The Astrology of Career: A Roadmap for Purpose, Business and Success Through Your Birth Chart
Most people come to astrology looking for answers. They search their horoscope, check what Mercury retrograde is doing, look up their zodiac sign, and try to work out whether the universe is giving them a green light, a red flag, or another deeply inconvenient character-development arc.
But when it comes to career, business, purpose and success, astrology becomes much more useful when you stop using it as something outside of you; and start using it as a map of your energies and what suits you best. In doing this, you align with the career and purpose you were created for instead of trying to force it (something usually not enregetically right for you) to happen.
This is where I am taking the Chief Vision Holder career series.
This series is not about asking, “What career should my zodiac sign have?” in a flat, generic way. It is about learning how your birth chart can help you understand your natural work patterns, your public identity, your relationship with success, your ambition, your confidence, your leadership style, and the kind of legacy you are here to build.
Your career and what I like to call your "external output" is an expression of your energy, your choices, your gifts, your discipline, your visibility, your values, and your willingness to actually become the person your next chapter requires.
Why Astrology Can Help With Career Clarity
Career alignment within the Chief Vision Holder framework leads you to the most personalised direction for you specifically. This isn't generic stuff that has simply worked for me, or requires you to change to suit someone else's version of success - and the path to it.
Self-development alone is great - all those gurus and podcast's are amazing for strategising and understanding the game. But, strategy without self-understanding can quickly turn into imitation or energetic misalignment. You end up building a life that looks successful from the outside but feels completely disconnected from who you actually are. Otherwise, you're trying really hard to conform to someone else's advice only to come up short.
Your birth chart can show patterns around vocation, visibility, money, work ethic, purpose, leadership, discipline, and the way you naturally move through the world. It does not remove your free will, and it does not hand you a perfect career plan with a bow on top. But it can help you understand the internal blueprint you are working with.
In Chief Vision Holder language, this is the difference between consuming astrology and applying astrology. You are not asking, “What does my horoscope say?”, you are asking, “what is the astrology of me?”.
What This Career Series Will Explore
Listen to the podcast here where I talk to the roadmap of this series explaining a little bit about what we will be covering over the following and upcoming episodes.
Industry and Career Arena
Your birth chart can show the kind of arena of work, or industry you are drawn toward, the way you may be known publicly, and the themes that often shape your professional path. This upcoming episode, and the first of the series will explore the industries or arena's where your energy will naturally shine.
I like to refer to it as the lighthouse you should steer your ship toward. This ep will give you a clearer indication of your professional 'slice of the pie' where you are energetically aligned to grow your reputation and be recognised publicly.
A Solid Internal Anchor
This is the ep that addresses the foundational piece to everything you do or put out into this world. One of the most important aspects of this work is being authentically you and trusting that your authentic self is destined for success in its own specific way. What this ep is referring to is the 'string to your kite' where your career or life's work (the kite) is coming from a stable and authentic, rooted place (the string). I will teach you how to maintain a sustainable career, rooted in the truth of you - so you can avoid burnout, inauthenticity and dissatisfaction in whatever you choose your external output to be.
Your Contribution to Your Industry
So once you know your industry or arena, and you're aware of how to root into the authentic self - the pivot towards an aligned career and life purpose then begins.
Where to start? Step one, consider the actual contribution you are energetically aligned to bring to your industry. Okay so you know you're career arena is enrtepreneurship but that doesn't give any specificity to what to actually do from there. This ep will show you how to niche down into your own industry or arena and see what you're meant to bring to that space. I will show you how to piece together the energies you naturally have and direct it toward the indsutry where you will shine.
For example - you may have an Aries Industry and are inclined to entrepreneurship, you may then have an Aquarius flavoured contribution, meaning the business you build will be flavoured by Aquarius themes such as innovation and technology (with the following placements adding in the nuance).
Soul Purpose x Career
This ep will cover your soul purpose and career and how they are not only distinct from each other (with regards to your astrology and internal energetics) but how they will always interrelate.
Your soul purpose placement in your astrology is the ultimate meaning to your life story. It is bigger than your career, than your family, than your accolades and everything else combined. Your soul chose to come here as you and has an ultimate purpose and essence it wants to achieve.
Your career here should simply align with or allow that purpose to play out. And if not, then your career shouldn't inhibit the soul purpose. Many people stay their life in careers that inhibit their soul purpose. This upcoming ep explains the interplay of the two and how to effectively harmonise them.
Your Specific Work Ethic Style
This is one of the most practical and life changing energetics to understand about yourself. This ep will teach you how to find, align with and integrate into everyday life the 'work ethic' that you are suited to.
Many believe that there is only one work ethic style - where dedication, discipline and reliability as an employee, worker, business owner etc is supposed to be flavoured a certain way. Responsibility and performance have always been favoured as a certain style. However, this episode will show you your specific style of work ethic that is sustainable for you and which allows for your best output.
How you Should Serve Others
Any business person, CEO, boss, creative or person of influence knows that what they do and their success really comes down to how they're actually serving their people.
That could be their own employees, their clients, their audience, their customers, their stakeholders – whoever it may be.
But there is a style that suits everyone's way of serving. May people who are out of alignment when it comes to service, simply don't want to serve - or they can't see the value in it. This ep will direct you to service that feels right for you and how you can actually implement it to better your career and life purpose. Service should feel natural and almost purposeful. Misaligned purpose style will make service feel draining whereas aligned service will feel free-flowing and abounding (like you have more and more to give).
For example, speaking, writing, recording and editing podcasts feels like positive aligned service for me. It feels like I am serving my people and my audience in a way that doesn't drain me. However (and I tried this), showing up on social media and trying to figure out algorithms and be performative online is misaligned for me specifically. And so, I dedicate most of my energy to serving in a way that suits me rather than wasting energy in activities that deplete me. It is imperitive you learn this for yourself as well.
The Genre of Your Life
Ultimately, your life is moving you towards a certain direction and when you are aligned with your true self and energetics, you will see this background theme or genre of life playing out - no matter what you do whether in career, relationship, family, achievements etc.
I know someone who's genre of life is to move towards independence and away from codependency. This person spent their early years very codependent are very much concerned with and reliant on their relationships and the energy of 'the other'. The genre of their life is directing their energy away from this and (following their Saturn return) their life is markedly more independent in nature. Their natural tendency to highlight the energy of 'the other', has now directed energy within themselves. And so, there is always an axis at play when it comes to the genre piece.
The genre is showing you and will come to fruition throughout your life as a background piece, moving you from one style of energy to the opposite, personally evolved style (meaning we're not all here for the same 'evolution' essentially). This will always feel like you're moving against something you're naturally inclined to or gifted with. This episode will speak to how your career should align with this axis and how to recognise your personal evolution.
Energetic Life Genre Examples:
Co-dependant evolves to independent
Control evolves to stability
Thinker evolves to student
Cold evolves to warmth
Group-think evolves to self-expression
Away evolves to here & now
Alone evolves to together
Practical predictability evolves to emotional vulnerability
Student evolves to teacher
Comfort evolves to responsible
I evolves to we
Perfection evolves to surrender
Personally, my genre depicts the 'student/teacher' axis. Now, post my Saturn return, I am moving from the student (something which I am more comfortable being and did for the first third of my life and flourished) towards the archetype of the teacher – which is ultimately right for me, according to the gender of my life, but feels like a step away from my natural inclination's. This ep will cover these energetics and how to work with them in your own life.
Your Self-worth Signature
This episode is going to teach you how to recognise all of the assets that you come with. Many people cannot see what they truly possess. They have never acknowledged their own innate gifts, possessions or assets. This could be their own innate know-how or skills, their way of speaking, their genetic make up, their history, their ancestral charge, their physical possessions - there's so much to a person that they don't recognise within themselves. This upcoming episode is about nursing and bringing these often overlooked aspects to the forefront so that you can use them as vehicles for success.
A brief example here is that I am naturally talented at talking and thinking/talking on the fly. My astrology also shows this. However, I have overlooked that most of my life opting to use this mostly in social settings or in my personal life. When I realised this was a skill, an asset, something I specifically possess that others don't - I realised I could use it. So, instead of me attempting something that was difficult for me like social media, creating posts and photos, interacting with small comments here and there, I knew my energy was better directed by my innate skills leading me to podcasting. Your skill could be film-making, creating things, initiating, ancestral wisdom etc. This ep will explore what this looks like for you and how to implement it in real life.
Your edge
I would describe this one as a toughie, but a goodie. This is because it's addressing a part of you that you usually would suppress, push away or be ashamed of – somewhat. What I do in this later episode is lead you to what those parts are and show you how to transmute what you have formerly been ashamed of or scared to enliven, into something of power and difference in your work or career.
My edge is that I am not a 'love and light' presence often seen in these industries and spaces. I have an innate boldness and aggressive style of speech and tone to my persona. When it came to a career in law, which is what I am trained in, this intimidating presence felt acceptable or more suited. However, in the spirituality industry (where I am better energetically aligned according to my astrology) this part of me feels wrong, unacceptable, unwanted, badly received, unpopular - you name it, I think it! However, I realise (and am still trying to allow myself to recognise) that this is actually my edge here. This episode discusses what your edge is and how it is 'an edge' in relation to all of the other pieces and specific aspects of your astrology that we would've formerly discussed in the prior episodes.
Rehab State
This is not speaking to addiction, it is rather speaking to rehabilitating a broken or less well developed part of you. The reason this matters is that once this aspect of you is worked on, it becomes an ultimate place of dignity and success. This is a placement you will learn about yourself where you need to put continued effort, discipline and mature consistency (just like when people injure themselves and need to rehabilitate it back to wellness). Slow progress in this part of your life will add up to immense return. The initial 'injury', delays, setbacks and difficulties are usually felt in this place in your life, but once you can recognise it as a destined part of your astrology, and not something you are victim to - you can work on it with consistency and clarity that the dedicated and disciplined work here will pay off. Sometimes the fruits of your labour here don't show until after your 30's, meaning your foreknowledge of it can ease anxieties.
Example rehab states:
Initial difficulty around money, self-worth and material possessions requires dedicated discipline to create healthier patterns and later financial stability.
Initial difficulty around self-expression, speaking up or your intelligence requires dedicated discipline around composing your thoughts, ideas and words and speaking your truth to make you a wise communicator and sage-type.
Initial difficulty around accomplishments, status, reputation and the scrutiny you receive in these areas causing stress requires dedicated discipline around expectations, higher calling, and purpose-led work to create career success and legacy.
